HALAL INTERNAL AUDITING PROGRAMME

AWARENESS: HALAL INTERNAL AUDIT

Halal internal audit one of the important verification activity in ensuring compliance with halal standard and requirements. In Malaysian Standard (MS1500:2009) for Halal Food – Production, Preparation, Handling and Storage – General Guideline (Second Revision) stated in Clause 4, product to be certified halal shall comply with Clause 3 of this standard and shall be verified through inspection as deem necessary by the competent authority.

The importance of audit is further stressed in Clause 3.1 whereby management of the company shall ensure the availability of competent personnel to ensure effective implementation of halal internal control system.

Halal Internal audit is one of the important tools which provide proof indicating halal internal control system within the organization is implemented and in compliance with regulatory, standard and system requirements.

This training course introduces participants on the concept, process flow and activities involves during the internal audit.

WORKSHOP: HALAL INTERNAL AUDIT

This is a two-day program are suitable for Halal Certified organization and companies which is in the process of obtaining Halal Certification from competent Halal Authority in Malaysia. The module covers all the halal aspects and will assist participants especially the Halal Committee Member/ Halal Officer to practices and maintain the implementation of halal and it requirements. Furthermore, the audit exercise is in accordance to Halal Certification Process and the Halal certification requirements.

This course will be a good investment and beneficial for all Halal Committee Member & Halal Officers who would like to upgrade themselves. Completion of the course will benefit participants to be able to conduct their own Halal Internal Audit.

  • Describe and apply the requirements of halal certification and Malaysia Halal Standards
  • Demonstrate that halal integrity is well maintained within the organization through mock audit exercise.

HALAL INTERNAL AUDIT – CHECKLIST

In this era, internal audit is common phenomena whereby an organisation may experience more than one type of audit per year. This situation depends on the organisation objectives in meeting the client requirements in producing safe and quality product /service through implementation of an effective and applicable management system. The concept, process flow and activities for audit are universal, the differences lies in the requirements for certain certification, its audit objectives, and criteria.

Halal Internal Audit – Checklist focus on producing the required checklist which covers every element in the Halal Certification Requirements. This is achievable by having a similar understanding on Halal Certification Requirements & standards. Effectiveness of the audit is further enhanced by having standardised audit criteria and objectives evidence.
